Brazos Fellowship Expansion

College Station, Texas

Programmatic Requirements

In its decade-plus years of existence, this young church has impacted the lives of thousands of people in the Brazos Valley area. Since its inception over 3,200 people have committed their lives to Jesus and over 400 have gone public with their faith through baptism. Brazos Fellowship began its ministry outreach in a temporary home in an elementary school. The move to its first permanent facility came in 2005 when it purchased and renovated the former Time Square night club building in College Station. BBA Architects is privileged to have been the architect for the original renovation as well as multiple expansion projects since acquiring its own property. Additional member growth and staff space requirements were the main factors driving the current construction project.

Design Solutions

The project allowed for the addition of a 260-seat balcony in the existing worship space, without displacing Sunday morning worship services. The occupants’ safety and comfort were always at the forefront of the planning process, and in approximately nine months, seating in the balcony was available to the members. Focus turned to the construction of a four-story tower to serve additional education space on the lower two floors and administration space on the upper levels. The fourth floor conference room opens onto a rooftop balcony which provides an amazing view of Aggieland.
