Cross Timbers Community Church
Argyle, Texas
Programmatic Requirements
BBA Architects prepared a Master Plan for the 84.9-acre property owned by Cross Timbers Community Church. This tract, which included the original 52.9 acres plus an additional 32 adjoining acres optioned for future development, has major frontage on Highway 377 in Argyle, Texas north of Ft. Worth. Witnessing a very rapid and continued growth rate, the church recognized that serving its growing ministry for over 2,000 members required immediate improvements to its present worship and educational facilities.
Design Solutions
Working with the church, our office developed a program of spaces for Phase I. Included were a temporary worship structure, increased classroom and gathering space for young parents and their children, and office space for the increasing staff members. Phase I components include a 1,500 seat worship center, a large fellowship and welcoming area leading to new classroom space, and a new office building devoted solely to administration of the church and its programs. The worship center was constructed using a Sprung Structure. Once the permanent 2,500-seat worship center is constructed this building will be converted to accommodate youth activities. Site improvements include 450 additional parking spaces as well as dedicated drop-off locations. Our firm completed the construction documents for this work in less than 60 days and released them to the Construction Manager for bidding. Construction began in January 2003. The worship space was completed by April 2003, and the educational and office space was completed in July 2003.
